Microneedling

Turn Back Time Using Gentle, Effective, Skin Rejuvenation with the AcuLiftTM MicroPen

Collagen and elastin are the essential protein fibers in the skin that give it support and elasticity. We lose about 1% of these fibers each year, eventually causing fine lines and wrinkles, skin sagging, and dull appearance. Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that creates microscopic channels in the skin which naturally generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, even toned and brighter, youthful looking skin.

Microneedling effectively treats fine lines, wrinkles, acne and other scars, improves skin texture and color and dramatically enhances effectiveness of high-grade serums used during and after treatment. Visible results begin on the first day and continue for weeks afterward. As collagen levels continue to build up, your skin becomes more luminous and complexion more even.

Dr. Painovich is uniquely qualified to perform Microneedling due to her in-depth knowledge of Chinese Medicine. Combining this ancient medicine with modern technology enhances health and beauty from the inside out. Body acupuncture and at times, Chinese herbs, address the internal causes of aging and organ imbalances, which often appear on the face and when combined with microneedling, drastically enhance the overall effects.

Microneedling treats:

• fine lines and wrinkles on face, neck and chest
• age spots (also called “sun spots”)
• acne scars
• uneven skin tone
• large pores
• other types of scars
• stretchmarks
• loose skin
• hair loss

What to Expect During a Treatment

Before a treatment, if desired, a topical anesthetic is applied to provide light numbing to the treated area. To ensure a gentle treatment, a physician formulated, organic, vegan serum prepared for your skin’s individual needs will be applied. The AcuLift™ MicroPen is then used to create controlled microchannels, eliciting your body’s healing response. This will remodel and rejuvenate your skin to provide a younger, more firm and radiant appearance.

Following the treatment, your skin may appear pink or slightly red, similar to a mild sunburn. This typically disappears after 12-24hrs. You will receive a patient aftercare kit to accelerate your recovery and results.

Results

Results are sometimes apparent after one treatment and will improve over a series of 3-6 monthly treatments. Results will continue to progress for several months after your last treatment and can last up to 5 years!

Red light therapy

Red light at specific wavelengths, it is considered bio-active in human cells and can directly and specifically affect and improve cellular function. Red light therapy for facial rejuvenation utilizes low wavelengths to penetrate the top layer of skin where collagen, elastin and other essential proteins reside. It increases oxygenation to your skin and improves circulation while also repairing damaged tissue; this leads to improved skin texture from increased collagen production and oxygenation. Red light also has the unique ability to decrease inflammation and bacteria, and even treat pre-cancerous lesions.

Red light therapy can be effective in treating:

  • Acne
  • Alopecia/Hair loss (androgenic)
  • Cold sores
  • Psoriasis, eczema, and rosacea
  • Puffiness of face
  • Sunspots
  • Wrinkles, fine lines, and age spots
  • Wound Healing

Facial Acupuncture

This cosmetic treatment is an extension of traditional acupuncture. Facial acupuncture naturally helps make the skin look younger, smoother, and all-around healthier. Unlike injection procedures, we use body and facial acupuncture together to address signs of aging and the skin and body’s overall health. This treatment works together to deliver nutrients and oxygen to your skin cells, nourishing skin from the inside out. Facial acupuncture helps improve elasticity, minimizing fine lines, wrinkles, saggy skin, puffiness, and improve the overall glow of your skin.

Facial Cupping

You have seen and heard me talk about the benefits of cupping on the body but what can facial cupping do? The concept and benefits are the same but facial cups are smaller and softer. They’re used to gently pull the skin away from deeper layers of fascia. This increases blood flow to the area and rejuvenates the skin without leaving cup marks behind. The suction provided by the cups separates different layers of tissues, resulting in microtrauma. Over time this practice improves the complexion and diminishes fine lines and wrinkles.

What is Gua Sha?

You’ve probably heard all the buzz about gua sha for facial rejuvenation all over social media but you may be wondering what gua sha is. Gua sha is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). According to the principles of TCM, your qi, or energy, must flow smoothly throughout the body so you can feel your best. When qi becomes stagnant in certain areas health problems can occur. With gua sha, an acupuncturist will use a smooth edge tool to gently scrape areas of your body where there is inflammation or stagnant qi to help improve circulation and promote healing. For facial rejuvenation, gua sha has been proven to help relieve tension in the face reduce puffiness, inflammation, fine lines, and can even help reduce sinus pressure.

Over time cupping and gua sha can lead to:

  • Brighter skin
  • Decrease puffiness
  • Improve nutrient delivery and absorption of facial products
  • Reduction in the appearance of scars, fine lines, and wrinkles
  • Regulate Oil Production
  • Tone chin, jawline, neck, and decolletage
